Technical drawing with an AI agent
Technical drawing (черчение) is taught in school and in university engineering graphics, descriptive geometry, mechanical, construction and electrical courses.
In Kazakhstan and the CIS, drawings follow the ESKD (ЕСКД) standards, GOST 2.xxx. The AI agent prepares a drawing sheet and an explanatory note as a vector figure in a DOCX file, not a CAD file.
What it contains
- A drawing sheet with frame and title block (form 1)
- The main view and other views, sections and cross-sections as needed
- Line types, scale, dimensions, hatching and lettering to GOST
- Position numbers and a specification for an assembly drawing
- An explanatory note with the choice of views and the construction steps
- A list of any dimensions that were assumed
Typical structure
- Drawing sheet (A4 or A3)
- Explanatory note: object and purpose
- Choice of views, sections and scale
- Description of the shape and material
- Dimensions and assumed dimensions
- Step-by-step construction order
- Standards applied
Length and format
The drawing is usually one or more A4 or A3 sheets, each on a page of its own. The explanatory note is typically half a page to three pages.
The note uses Times New Roman 14 pt and 1.5 spacing. The drawing is black on white, with no colour or shading, as is usual for ESKD.
How the AI agent helps
- Describe the object or paste the assignment variant with its dimensions.
- Attach a sketch, photo or the variant sheet if you have one.
- The AI agent draws the views in projection relationship and checks dimensions across views.
- Use the construction steps to redraw it by hand or in CAD and check it against your task.
Questions and answers
Do I get a CAD file?
No. The drawing is a computer-generated vector figure in a DOCX file, not DWG, DXF or KOMPAS.
What if some dimensions are not given?
The AI agent chooses realistic, proportionate values and lists every assumed dimension in the explanatory note.
Which standards are used?
ESKD conventions such as GOST 2.302 for scales, 2.303 for lines, 2.304 for lettering, 2.306 for hatching and 2.307 for dimensions.
Can I copy it by hand?
Yes. For construction tasks, the explanatory note gives the order of steps, which helps when drawing it yourself.
Describe the object and attach your variant to get a drawing sheet with an explanatory note.
The AI agent prepares a draft that you review, edit and finalize yourself; exact requirements depend on your school, university or teacher.
